Our Community Promise
At TOCA, we're building more than just soccer games—we're creating a community where everyone belongs. This code of conduct reflects our commitment to keeping our soccer environment fun, safe, and welcoming for all players.
Respect the Game
- Play fair: Compete with integrity and sportsmanship
- Respect the Match Captain: Accept decisions gracefully
- Play safely: No slide tackles, boarding, or dangerous play
- Follow facility rules: They exist for everyone's safety
Respect Each Other
- Welcome new players: Everyone was new once
- Know names: Address fellow players by name
- Positive communication: Encourage, don't criticize
- Inclusive play: Ensure everyone gets meaningful playing time
- Celebrate good plays: Recognize skill at all levels
Respect the Space
- Clean up: Leave the area better than you found it
- Proper equipment: Wear appropriate footwear and required safety gear
- Use facilities properly: No jumping over boards or misusing equipment
- Follow check-in procedures: Wristbands, waivers, and IDs
When Things Get Heated
- Take a breath: Step back when emotions run high
- Accept timeouts: Use them to cool down, not escalate
- Own mistakes: Apologize when needed
- Remember why we're here: For fun, fitness, and friendship

Adult League Rules
WINNING THE TOCA WAY
- Win = 3 points / Tie = 1 point
- Only Playoffs go to shootouts (3 rounds then sudden death)
- We all win when we are good humans, sweat more and play fair
SQUAD GOALS
The Setup
- Your squad needs at least the on-field minimum to get the game on!
- 5s, 6s, 7s
- For co-ed teams:
- Need at least 2 girls on the field
- 5s: Max 3 guys, 6s: Max 4 guys, 7s: Max 5 guys
- No girls available? You can still play but stick to max guys rule
Player Requirements
- Must be 18+
- Need valid government ID
- Gotta sign the waiver
- Can't be playing for multiple teams in the same division
FIT CHECK
The Drip
- Your team needs matching jersey colors
- Goalkeepers must wear a unique color
- Home team wears TOCA pinnies if there's a color clash
- Shin guards are mandatory
The No-Go's - Safety is cool
- No unsecured jewellery
- No hats
- No metal cleats (we're not trying to destroy anyone)
- Indoor flats or turf shoes when you can
GAMEPLAY
The Dos
- Sub players whenever (but use the designated areas)
- Direct free kicks for all restarts
- Stay 5 Yards away from free kicks
- PKs from the mark (classic style)
- Goalkeepers can use hands in their area and slide hands first
The Don’ts
- No offsides
- No throw-ins (kick-ins only)
- No slide tackles
- No spitting
- No boarding (this isn't hockey)
- No jumping over boards
- Goalkeepers can't:
- Punt or drop-kick
- Pick up teammate passes
- Slide tackle feet first
MISCONDUCT AND PENALTIES
Yellow Cards (2 min penalty)
- Intentional slide tackling
- Boarding someone (not cool)
- Spitting on the field
- Body contact with no ball contact
Red Card (Exit game, leave facility)
- Flagrant fouls or behavior, including but not limited to:
- Offensive language or slurs
- Aggressive or targeted tackling
- Verbal or physical fighting
- Intoxication while playing
- Must leave the facility (no hanging around)
Forfeits
- Shows up as a 0-3 loss
- Happens if:
- You're using ineligible players
- Not enough players 5 mins after start time

Adult Pickup Rules
BEFORE YOU PLAYTHE GAME RULES (KEEP IT SIMPLE)
- 5-min games
- No goal limits
- Stay on your feet (no slide tackles)
- Kick-ins only
- Teams switch every 5 mins
- Each squad plays 2 games, then takes a breather
- Got subs? Rotate every couple of minutes, we all want to sweat
- Using multiple fields? We're doing Pro/Rel vibes (if skill levels match)
- Keep it fun (that's literally the point)
- Everyone gets to play
- Check in at the front desk
- Sign SmartWaiver
- Get a wristband
